How the System Works:

While our EV fire Suppressor Blanket and Mister have the ability to work independently of each other, when used together, they create a comprehensive system to shut down a thermal runaway event.
Covering a vehicle quickly with an EV blanket provides a measure of containment and protection while the Mister delivers a water mist spray directly to the vehicle’s undercarriage chassis to cool the battery modules and help mitigate and dampen vapor cloud ignitions.

Mister Features:

(1) 6” Diameter “no tip” Mister spray head with 15 individual omni-directional spray mist nozzles that deliver true firefighting droplets <1,000 microns

How it Works:

With 100 psi at the Mister head, a 10 gpm low-flow water mist spray will be delivered directly to the vehicle's undercarriage to cool the chassis, pulling heat away from the battery modules, to shut down a thermal runaway event. (firefighting droplet size / <1,000 microns)
Tests validate the Mister’s low-flow rate is as effective as high-flow models, while preserving water resources and reducing the amount of toxic runoff. The fine mist can also help mitigate and dampen vapor cloud ignitions that could occur underneath the EV blanket.
In certain situations, the Mister may be used for stand-alone cooling and has been found to offer effective undercarriage coverage in winds up to 25 mph.

How the EV Blanket Works:

Covering a vehicle quickly with an EV blanket, when done with a good ground seal, will provide a measure of containment and protection. It helps deprive the fire of free oxygen, thus suppressing flames, which in turn instantly lowers the temperature and decreases the smoke volume.
An EV blanket may also be used as a fire break (covering an object to protect it) or a fire wall (creating a barrier between the fire and other property).

Blanket Multiple Uses?

The EV Suppressor Blanket is designated for single only. Other brands may claim “multiple uses,” but then fail to address the decontamination aspect. Once used, a blanket is saturated with toxins and heavy metals. Another issue is coating burn off, which happens with direct flame contact. The blanket is forever changed and cannot claim to be as effective as it was when new. Who is qualified, outside of a lab, to quantify the damage to a blanket, fire after fire, with confidence it will be effective during the next incident? With those thoughts in mind, we recommend you not spending the extra money on a "multi-use" option. (We've actually been told that the majority of the multi-use blankets sold by our competitors are discarded after the 1st use due to the reasons mentioned and also due to the difficulty of repacking them--- especially when wet).
