Testing and Technical Information

There are no industry standard tests for fire blankets designed for lithium-ion battery fires. however, these blankets have been extensively tested for the intended fire threat in both burner tests and being placed directly onto high-energy battery modules undergoing thermal runaway. Third-party tested to withstand FAA-defined Bunsen burner 1950°F flame exposure on the blanket seam, in horizontal configuration, for 60 minutes with no charring and only slight discoloration in the flame zone. Tested with 5.3 kWh EV modules at 100% state of charge, resulting in a controlled event, thermal propagation continuing through the pack, with no cell ejections penetrating through the blanket.
