The Emergency Plug is a crucial tool designed to enhance safety and control during electric vehicle (EV) emergencies. Unlike internal combustion vehicles, determining whether an EV is running or safely powered down can be challenging, especially during severe accidents where safety systems may malfunction. The Emergency Plug offers a reliable solution, giving emergency responders control over the vehicle's power functions.
Once plugged into the vehicle’s charging port, the Emergency Plug simulates a charging process, automatically switching the gear to "Park" or "Neutral" and potentially activating the electric parking brake. This essential function prevents accidental starting or unintended movement, providing responders with the ability to safely deactivate all necessary electronics.
Compatible with most EVs, the Emergency Plug supports both type 1 and type 2 charging ports, including Tesla vehicles. It features a status LED for real-time monitoring, a self-test function for safe usage, and a luminescent housing for enhanced visibility in low-light conditions. Additionally, it can bypass the “Anti-Theft” lock, allowing it to be removed at any time without complications.
Important Note: The Emergency Plug is not compatible with certain U.S. models from General Motors (GM), specifically the Hummer EV SUV and Chevrolet Blazer EV. This limitation is due to the unique electrical systems of these vehicles. The manufacturer is actively working to address this issue, with a commitment to maintaining high safety standards and ensuring effective support for first responders.
